Community Health Foundation of Puerto Rico (CHFPR) selects MediVisum© for Its COVID-19 Mobile Outreach Program’s Telehealth Patient Care Platform
Johns Creek, GA (June 11, 2020) – Community Health Foundation of Puerto Rico has selected MediVisum© as its telehealth platform for remote patient care and use by its Covid-19 Mobile Outreach Program to support and track efforts across its service region during the pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created an unexpected need on the part of healthcare providers to adopt telehealth technology. In addition to modifying existing reimbursement and security rules to allow the rapid adoption of this technology, the Federal government, through the Federal Communication Commission, has provided funding in the amount of $200 million to help healthcare providers “provide connected care services to patients at their homes or mobile locations”.
CHFPR, has partnered with MediVisum as its telehealth platform to support its COVID-19 Community Outreach Programs. MediVisum provided the security, patient privacy, and documentation functionality that they needed in general and their clinically based tools were easily configurable to CHFPRs specialized workflows associated with the Covid-19 Mobile Outreach Program.
Built from the ground up by healthcare professionals for healthcare providers, MediVisum offered a HIPAA compliant solution as well as critical and value-based features like patient risk scoring, screen image capture, report generation, session tracking and audit logging for CMS validation and a host of clinically based tools.
In addition to providing specialized tools for such needs as COVID-19 screening, MediVisum provides modules for Behavioral Health, Annual Wellness Visits, and other applications which can be configured or customized to address the needs of clients in diverse clinical settings.
Jay Moskowitz, CEO of MediVisum, stated “As a company of healthcare professionals we understand that the cliché “one size fits all” is not axiomatic when it comes to workflows. In partnering with Community Health Foundation of Puerto Rico we were happy to be able to provide the flexibility to accommodate their unique needs very quickly without having to make significant structural changes to our platform.“
According to Dr. Ismael Toro Grajales, the Board Chairman at CHFPR, “It was very important to us to have an application that would support our outreach efforts to patients who had difficulty accessing our center during the pandemic, and help drive our community-based Covid-19 Mobile Outreach initiative. This initiative was designed to reduce the COVID-19 transmission rates among high risk r populations by having teams of trained healthcare professionals move across our service region to comprehensively screen and triage patients at their homes as well as in residential settings such as homes for the aged. We are very impressed by the intuitive functionality of MediVisum©, and the ability of its team to customize their application to fit our workflow requirements. The application brings simplicity to our complex needs and leads to actionable events.”
